How Webflow enabled me to turn my idea into reality within hours
Disclosure: I am part of the Webflow Affiliate Program and get commissions for purchases made through referral links in this post.
I was working late nights working on developing, managing, deploying several websites for friends and family. One particular night I was feeling overwhelmed by the amount of work it took to make minor changes within websites.
I decided to search around for a no/low code solution to build websites and host them. I came across Webflow (this is a paid link) which seemed like a promising platform. I decided to give it a try and fortunately they had a free plan to let me test it out.
I was very impressed by the visual development platform. There was already templates available and ready that I could modify to suit my needs. Developing websites changed from having to write many lines of HTML/CSS/Javascript to just point and click (and the occassional typing). Furthermore, there is plenty of resources online through Webflow University to teach users how to use the platform. I found Webflow University very useful when I was trying to do 2D and 3D effects.
Designing responsive websites for various devices (desktop, tablet, mobile) becomes a breeze. By using this feature I can know, during development phase, how my website will render for the various devices very rapidly. Furthermore, if I am unhappy with how my layout appears for a single device I can quite easily modify the layout for that particular device using the visual editor in Webflow (this is a paid link).
Deploying my finished website was also a very simple 3 step process. From the visual editor you click on the Publish button. Next select the domains that you would like to publish your changes to. Finally, click on Publish to selected domains. Within a few seconds the process will have completed and if you navigate to the domain you published to you will see the new changes.
By using the Webflow platform I have significantly increased the speed at which I can prototype and deploy websites ready to be consumed by end users. Webflow has been an invaluable tool for me throughout my career and has enabled me to develop custom websites for my clients in a short time frame. I would highly recommend people to try this out.
If you are thinking of signing up for any plans it would really help me out if you would use my referral link (this is a paid link). Thank you for your time and I hope you find it as useful as I did.
